Dec 27, 2012. #1. asus laptop keyboard shift key not working properly. it will not capitalize or use the symbol keys. also ctrl, alt and delete keys will not work. ctrl keys such as copy and paste work and so does alt and f4 key. my main problem is with the shift key. i have win 7. i wiped down the laptop keyboard while it was on

If you couldn’t get the number pad working, you can use Windows 11 virtual keyboard as a replacement. To launch it, press the Ctrl + Windows key + O keyboard shortcut. If this doesn’t work, you can open it from the Settings menu. Go to Accessibility > Keyboard and turn on the toggle next to On-screen keyboard.
ALL Keyboards i know have some kind of FN Lock, so that the FN Key toggles the F1-F12 keys the other way around.
